Christmas Means Good News
Christmas Means Good News is a joyful introduction to the Christmas story for ages 0–3. It uses simple, concrete language to tell the story of a long-awaited promise, focusing on anticipation, welcome, and good news.
This book follows Luke’s story and so includes Mary’s song, Jesus’ birth in a stable, and the shepherds in the field. Luke includes these unique details to identify Jesus with the poor and marginalized. His birth signals that “the hungry are filled with good things and the lowly are lifted up,” (Luke 1:52–53). Jesus’ birth is good news for everyone, but especially those who need help. God’s Son has arrived, and with him comes a dream where everyone is loved, everyone belongs, and everyone helps each other.
